Life Update

Alright, so I'm going to try and get back into blogging.  Mostly because I am jealous that my friend Ashley is so on top of it and I love reading about her current trends.  Since she has moved to another state, it is a nice way to feel like she is still close by.

Now back to me...since this is my blog of course.

I guess I have two important updates:

1. My Job - Since I quit my last job (teaching in another county) due to a stressful work environment, I have resumed substitute teaching in Washoe.  Needless to say, it is great to be home and around my friends and family rather than in a tiny town where I can with the utmost certainty say I wasn't very well liked.  I'm the first to admit that I can have a bitchy personality, but I think small town minds aren't capable of not blowing things out of proportion....I'm just saying.  Just recently I was offered a full time sub job for the rest of the year for a 1st grade classroom that only has 17 students.  That's right, I said 17 students.  I've already met them to and it is even at my mom's school, so it's a pretty sweet deal.  I start Monday.  I'm just a little nervous about it being 1st grade.  I've never been in a 1st grade, so I have some work cut out for me.  But I think I'm ready for the challenge.

2. My Health - I've recently discovered that I have some sort of problem with my cervix.  I'm not exactly sure what it is since I have yet to go into the doctor; that will be next week where I get to discuss "treatment options".  Even though I was reassured that it's not cancer, I'm still a little nervous; that doesn't exactly rule out pre-cancerous, those are two different things in the medical field if you didn't already know.  Hopefully positive updates will soon follow and my "treatment" is a simple round of antibiotics.  At the very least, whatever it is, we caught it early.  I've always thought of myself as a glass half full, benefit of the doubt, optimistic kind of girl...so good thoughts and crossed fingers for the next four days.

Those two things are my main updates.  Let us just see if I can keep up with my new bloggy as Ashley likes to call it.  Does it still count as new if I made it over a year ago and waited this long to update it??
